Downfall Of Gaia - s/t CD

After releasing their insane LP "Suffocating In The Swarm Of Swans" last year, Downfall Of Gaia comes up with another record: The new, self titled CD released on Moment Of Collapse Records contains two former releases. While the first six songs are off their debut LP called "Epos" (2010), the second part of the CD features both tracks "These Wet Feathers..." and "Won't Dry On Their Own" off the split with Sweden's In The Hearts Of Emperors released in 2011.

Although the CD doesn't offer any new tracks at all, it is still pretty cool having two older records in their entirety on it. Especially for those who aren't into vinyls (or simply collecting CDs as well) this is a chance to expand or complete their collection.

Much respect for this band. Three years after releasing their current LP "Eroded by the breeze" they are coming up with another masterpiece. With an amazing artwork and five new songs this EP is one of the best ones lately released.

The short title track of about 90 seconds leads directly into the second song called "Ambitions", which the five boys from western Germany already released a video to. Honestly, this doesn't sound like AYS anymore at all - but it's still excellent. "I'm losing my head, feel the violent chill of reality. Tell me, where were you when this breeze got so cold?" Desperate, aggressive vocals, metallic guitar riffs and a heavy break make this song an almost perfect one.

The Cold Harbour - Homebound

In late summer 2012 The Cold Harbour released a new 12" called "Homebound". Being more melancholic and emotive than most other bands, the five boys managed to write an insane melodic hardcore album.

Take Down Rapture - Conviction

Take Down Rapture aus Buxtehude haben nun beinahe 4 Jahre gebraucht, um ihren Stil zu finden. Breakdownlastig, langsam und metallisch. Mit "Conviction" geben die fünf Jungs ihr neues Album zum Besten; der neue gefundene Sound wird - dank Horsetown Studios aus Buxtehude - durch eine sehr cleane und lupenreine Aufnahme unterstrichen.

Im Allgemeinen ist das Album im Midtempo-Bereich angesiedelt, was für den Einen oder Anderen ein bisschen zu wenig Abwechslung bedeuten könnte. Für Freunde der langsameren Musik ist es aber genau das Richtige.

Wenige Wochen, nachdem Hamburgs Vorzeigeband Before I Forsake ihr Album veröffentlicht hat, ist auch das Debüt von Count On Pride erschienen. "Growing" kommt mit einem bestechend guten Artwork und beinhaltet 13 Tracks - das Äußere liefert also gleich mehrere Argumente, um sich auf die neuen Songs zu freuen.
