Ghostwriter - Storms And Promises
After releasing their first EP in 2010, Ghostwriter from Berlin, Germany finally dropped their first full length in spring 2012 now. They improved a lot, with powerful and emotional melodies and lyrics they created a wonderful modern hardcore album.

These nine tracks on "Storms and promises" definitely include everything what's needed for a great hardcore album. Starting off with a melodic intro called "Abysmal", the 12" gets more and more powerful and energetic (?). 2-step parts and oldschool riffs in the title track, powerful guest vocals in "Rebuilt", a heavy break in "Elusion" - what a great beginning!
Side A of this amazing vinyl ends with "Rain", a track which summarizes the album quite well, including slow and emotional parts as well as a pretty heavy guitar riff.
The second side of the 12" starts with a long but really good interlude called "Desolation". "Sideroad's Notes", a song split up in two parts, is pretty good as well, but there's simply no words for what follows – the last track "Closer..." is incredibly good! It doesn't start any special though, but after about three minutes it gets the most emotional and probably best track on this record.
"I saw the world in your eyes it never ends with a smile. I saw the world in your eyes so we'll never cast aside this life.” To be honest, these lines, again sung by a guest vocalist, are simply an unbelievable ending of this record!
To shortly summarize it: The guys from Berlin managed it to become a very special band. This is not only better than many other bands, this is different. "Storms and promises" is a must-have for everyone who is into hardcore/punk, so no one should sleep on this!
